The first time we offered OPTIMIST swag, it came from something I once said: "Without my negativity, I wouldn't be such an optimist." I've carried that line with me for years, because to me optimism has never been about pretending everything is fine but instead about knowing exactly how hard things are and choosing, on purpose, to believe they'll turn out brilliant anyway.
That's the choice I've had to make with Phat Fudge more than once. I built this brand in my kitchen, sealing every packet by hand out of my apartment, and grew it into something bigger than I ever imagined. Then a stretch of bad luck left me with no choice but to sell it. Letting it go was one of the hardest things I've done, but I held onto the belief that our story wasn't over. Almost two years later, I got the chance to bring it home, and I didn't hesitate.
